Our Mission

Kwagala Project is dedicated to rescuing, restoring, and empowering women and children who have been victimized by trafficking, gender-based violence and/or abject poverty.

The Art of Healing

The girls and women we rescue are talented and resourceful, they just don't always see themselves that way.  Part of our job is to locate their strengths and coax them out. Since seeing is believing, the act of producing something of quality and beauty is not only a way for these women to generate income, it's a way for them to heal. That's one of the reasons we are making baskets now. Baskets are part of the culture...


THE ISSUES THESE GIRLS FACE ARE COMPLICATED AND DAUNTING - THERE'S NO EASY FIX,  BUT TO DO NOTHING SEEMS ENTIRELY UNIMAGINABLE.
